Pomona Waste Management (PVT)
Risk Officer
Requirements:
Education
Bachelor's degree in risk management, Insurance and Risk Management, Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Business Management or a closely related field.
A postgraduate qualification in Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Auditing or a related discipline will be an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum of five years' relevant experience in risk management, internal controls, compliance or internal auditing, preferably in waste management, waste collection, logistics, or another operational environment.
Demonstrated experience conducting risk assessments, maintaining risk registers, reviewing controls, analysing incidents and losses, and preparing management reports.
Exposure to fleet and fuel controls, asset protection, procurement reviews, business continuity or insurance claims administration will be an added advantage.
Certifications
A recognised professional qualification or certification in risk management, internal auditing, insurance or compliance, or progress towards one, will be an added advantage.
Skills
Sound understanding of enterprise and operational risk assessment, internal controls, compliance monitoring, fraud risk, business continuity and waste management or collection risks.
Strong analytical, control-testing, root cause analysis, report-writing and record-management skills, with attention to detail, integrity, objectivity and confidentiality.
Effective communication and coordination skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, and the ability to conduct site visits and follow up actions across departments. A valid driver's licence is an added advantage.
